The NuGen Recess Program

At NuGen Recess, we believe recess is more than just a break in the school day. It is an important opportunity for children to stay active, build friendships, develop social skills, and learn how to play together. Our team provides organized group games, sports, and supervised free play, giving students the freedom to have fun while maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. We also believe that children who struggle during recess should be supported rather than simply removed from play. Through our Second Chance Initiative, students who may have difficulty managing emotions, resolving conflicts, or playing cooperatively are invited to participate in counselor led group games designed to promote teamwork, positive communication, emotional regulation, good sportsmanship, and respectful play. The goal is to help students learn from challenging moments, practice better ways to interact with their peers, and successfully rejoin the larger recess community.
