Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child have to attend five days per week?

No. Families may select a one-to-five-day weekly schedule or purchase a flexible “Whenever Day” package. Fixed attendance days should remain consistent unless a schedule change is approved.

How does monthly tuition work?

Monthly tuition reserves your child’s space for the selected attendance days. Tuition is based on a four-week calculation. When a month includes additional scheduled program days, families are not charged extra.

Is tuition reduced when the program has fewer days?

Adjusted rates are only offered for Holiday Break, Winter Recess, Spring Break, and June, when applicable. Tuition is not prorated for regular school holidays, personal vacations, absences, or other missed days.

What is the refund and credit policy?

Monthly tuition is non-refundable once the applicable month has begun. Refunds, credits, or prorated tuition are not provided for absences, illness, vacations, suspensions, early pickups, or schedule changes.

Are additional fees ever charged?

Additional fees may apply when special security coverage is required by NYC Public Schools, the school administration, NYPD School Safety Division, or another applicable authority. Families will be notified in advance whenever reasonably possible.

Is homework help provided?

Homework time and general assistance may be included in the daily schedule. However, NuGen Kids Club cannot guarantee that every assignment will be completed or checked. Families should review their child’s homework at home.

Is an afternoon snack provided?

A packaged afternoon snack may be provided. Parents must report all food allergies and dietary restrictions during enrollment. Children with special dietary needs may be asked to bring an approved snack from home.

How are allergies, medications, and medical needs handled?

Parents must provide complete medical information and all required authorization forms before their child attends. Medication cannot be administered unless the required documentation and approvals are in place.

Who is allowed to pick up my child?

Children are only released to parents, guardians, or authorized pickup persons listed on their enrollment forms. Staff may require government-issued photo identification.

What happens if I am late for pickup?

Children must be picked up by the program’s scheduled closing time. Late pickup fees may apply, and repeated late pickups may affect continued enrollment. Please contact the program immediately if an emergency causes a delay.

What happens when school is closed?

Regular after-school programming does not operate when the host school is closed unless NuGen Kids Club announces a separate holiday or school-break program. Emergency closures will be communicated to families as soon as possible.

How does NuGen Kids Club handle behavioral concerns?

We use positive guidance, redirection, conflict resolution, and age-appropriate consequences. Parents will be contacted when behavior is serious, repeated, or affects the safety and well-being of others.

Is enrollment guaranteed after submitting the registration form?

No. Enrollment is subject to available space, completed documents, payment of required fees, and confirmation from NuGen Kids Club. A submitted registration form does not automatically guarantee placement.

Can my child change attendance days?

Schedule-change requests must be submitted in advance and are subject to availability. Tuition adjustments, refunds, or credits are not guaranteed for changes made after the month begins.

What should my child bring?

Families will receive a list of required or recommended items before the program begins. All personal belongings should be clearly labeled with the child’s full name.

How will families receive program updates?

Important announcements, schedule changes, reminders, and emergency notices may be sent by email, telephone, text message, or another approved parent communication platform. Families are responsible for keeping their contact information current.

No. Families may select a one-to-five-day weekly schedule or purchase a flexible “Whenever Day” package. Fixed attendance days should remain consistent unless a schedule change is approved.
